My name is Jo Watson and this is “Watson at the movies”. As a media and communications student at Glasgow Caledonian University, I am passionate about movies and the study of film.
I was brought up in Edinburgh, where going to “the pictures” each weekend was the highlight of my week.
From classics like Breakfast at Tiffany’s to Disney’s recent blockbusters such as Moana, these films immerse the viewers and for me, transport us from reality.
With that said, films bring controversy and are open to criticism from the public. I am going to explore the impact of new releases as well as going back to what makes movies a hit and why.
